Dr. Thomas Simler, CNRS resercher
Thomas Simler graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon. He completed his Ph.D. (2012–2016) under the supervision of Dr. Pierre Braunstein and Dr. Andreas A. Danopoulos at the University of Strasbourg, working on multifunctional NHC and pincer complexes. He then joined the group of Prof. Peter W. Roesky at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow, working on low-valent lanthanide and main group compounds. In 2019, he joined the group of Prof. Grégory Nocton at Ecole polytechnique for a second postdoctoral stay.
In October 2022, he was appointed CNRS researcher at the Laboratoire de Chime Moléculaire (Molecular Chemistry Laboratory) of the Ecole polytechnique and focuses on the reactivity of low valent lanthanide and oxophilic complexes for small molecule activation.
